The second meeting of the DPI Supervisory Board

The meeting of the Supervisory Board of the public association "Development Policy Institute" was held on March 30, 2022, following the results of its activities for 2021.
The second meeting of the DPI Supervisory Board

The meeting was attended by members of the Supervisory Board (SB)1:

  • Natalya Shipp (in-person) - Chairperson of the DPI NS
  • Murat Baydildaev (online)
  • Andris Jaunsleinis (online)
  • Gulmairam Uchugenova (online)

Members of the Board of the DPI:

  • Nadezhda Dobretsova (online).
  • Bekbolot Bekiev  (on-site)
  • Sabina Gradwal (full-time)

According to the agenda, the following issues were considered:

  1. Information on the new composition of the SB.
  2. Recommendations of USAID to increase organizational potential of DPI (within the frame of “Successful Aimak 2 Project).
  3. Presentation of the review of the 2021 Annual Report of DPI.
  4. Presentation of the 2021 Consolidated Financial Report review.

On the first issue Sabina GRADWAL informed the participants about the departure of Bakyt Satybekov, director of the Alliance for the Promotion of Civic Initiatives (APCI), from SB, the organization he leads is now a sub-grant of the DPI within the framework of the "Successful Aimak 2" project and it can create a conflict of interest.

Members of the DPI Supervisory Board took note of that information and agreed on the date for the adoption of proposals for potential candidates.

On the remaining and other issues, the following spoke:

  • Sabina GRADWAL on USAID recommendations from the summer 2021 assessment.
  • Andris JAUNSLEINIS on the possibility of holding quarterly meetings of the SB, including 2 meetings with the participation of the DPI Board Members.
  • Natalia SHIPP on the example of the work of members of the SB of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
  • Murat BAYDILDAEV on examples of including members of the Supervisory Board of state bodies in various structures, including the Collegium.

Nadezhda DOBRETSOVA, Chairman of the Board of DPI, spoke on issues No. 3 and No. 4, and presented reviews of the annual report[2] on the activities of the DPI and the financial report for 2021.

Based on the results of the meeting, the members of the Supervisory Board of the PA “Development Policy Institute” approved the reports and made a decision to publish the review.
