Elmira applied to the regional Mediation Service center opened within the framework of the Yntymaktuu Zhashoo (Living in Peace) project with a request for help in resolving the debt repayment conflict.
Four years ago, she gave 40,000 soms to her close friend Aigul. For four years, Elmira could not get a debt repayment from a friend, however, she did not want to get it to the trial.
The mediator invited the second party of the conflict - Aigul, to the meeting, where information was provided on the procedure for mediation in resolving the issue. Aigul, as well as Elmira, expressed a desire to resolve the issue with the help of a mediator.
While working with the mediator, Aigul did not deny that she had borrowed money from Elmira, but said that she was currently in a difficult situation, sold her house and all her property, lost her job and now cannot pay off loans she received from the bank.
During the meetings and mediation, Aigul was able to get a job and immediately paid 5,000 KG soms to Elmira. The parties, with the help of a mediator, concluded a mediation agreement on the obligation of Aigul to pay the balance of the debt in the amount of 5,000 KG soms every month until its full repayment.
So with the help of a mediator Elmira was able to settle the conflict and return her money without a trial and Aigul was able to get the opportunity to repay the debt on the suitable conditions.
