Financial Literacy Caravan Held in Bazar-Korgon District

On 11 February 2026, a one-day seminar titled “Financial Literacy and the Development of Investment Mindset among Vulnerable Groups in Rural Areas of Kyrgyzstan” was held in Bazar-Korgon District of Jalal-Abad Region. The seminar was organized by the Development Policy Institute within the framework of the EGED Programme, with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom.

The seminar aimed to improve financial literacy, foster an investment-oriented mindset, and strengthen practical skills in managing personal and business finances among women, youth, entrepreneurs, and representatives of vulnerable groups. More than 60 residents took part in the event, with women making up a significant share of participants.

During the seminar, participants gained practical knowledge on financial planning, cash flow management, business readiness for attracting investment, and explored available financing opportunities, including state programmes, grants, and private investments. Particular emphasis was placed on the practical application of knowledge and improving the investment readiness of local business initiatives.

Local entrepreneur A. Ozgonov highlighted the practical value of the seminar, noting that it helped him reassess his approach to financial management and better understand the importance of financial planning and responsible borrowing.

Student F. Tursunbaeva emphasized the relevance of such training for young people, stating that the seminar provided her with useful insights on developing financial skills and making informed decisions with a long-term perspective.

At the conclusion of the event, participants confirmed the strong demand for financial literacy initiatives at the local level and noted increased interest in investment activities, as well as readiness to apply the acquired knowledge in practice
