At the initiative of the At-Bashy District State Administration, with active participation of the District Coordination Council and support from the EGED Programme, a working meeting was held to assess the current state of tourism infrastructure and service quality in the hospitality sector. As a result, partners agreed to provide practical support to local entrepreneurs and promote them at the national level through participation in the HoReCa Awards, an annual national competition supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
To implement this decision, the Coordination Council together with the District State Administration conducted a quality assessment of local hospitality businesses. Three facilities were selected to participate in the competition: At-Bashy Restaurant, At-Bashy Café, and Zhibek-Jolu Guest House. The selected entrepreneurs received consultation support, including guidance on competition criteria and assistance with application preparation.
The national HoReCa Awards competition, chaired by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Temir Sariev, brought together more than 500 restaurants and hotels and 56 guest houses from across the country. As a result, Zhibek-Jolu Guest House won first place in the “Best Guest House” category, representing a significant achievement for At-Bashy district. This provided the enterprise with additional opportunities for sustainable development, including participation in training programmes, service-oriented trainings, and free promotion at the national level.
According to the Head of At-Bashy Entrepreneurs Association, the initiative demonstrated effective cooperation between local authorities, the Coordination Council and the private sector within the SEDP and contributed to strengthening the district’s tourism attractiveness and the competitiveness of local businesses.
