The Development Policy Institute (DPI) has launched a series of three-day training sessions for representatives of district-level city municipalities on developing Socio-Economic Development Programmes (SEDPs) using the updated methodology of adapted strategic planning.
The aim of the training is to strengthen municipal planning capacities, enhance practical skills, identify priority development areas, and align local government actions with national programmes and community initiatives.
The trainings are conducted under the Urban Support Project jointly implemented by the DPI and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the “Partnership for Local Self-Government Development in the Kyrgyz Republic,” supported by the Government of Switzerland.
Participants include deputy mayors responsible for economic issues, heads of mayoral administrations, heads of economic development and finance departments, urban planning and municipal property specialists, city council members, and active community representatives.
The first training cycle for cities of Chui and Issyk-Kul regions is being held from December 2 to 4. A similar training will take place for cities of Osh region on December 8–10, and for cities of Jalal-Abad region on December 11–13.
