Arstanbap Hosts Annual Festival “Walnut Forest – a Green Legacy for Youth”

On November 11, 2025, the village of Arstanbap Ata in the Bazar-Korgon district hosted the annual festival “Walnut Forest – a Green Heritage for Youth.” The event was organized by the Bazar-Korgon District State Administration as part of the implementation of the Social and Economic Development Programme and supported by the “Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) program funded by the Government of the United Kingdom.

More than 100 participants attended the event, including representatives of local self-government bodies, businesses, district authorities, civil society organizations, forest product producers, researchers, and artisans.

The festival aimed to discuss the potential and future development of walnut forests in the Kyrgyz Republic, attracting investments, explore current challenges and opportunities, and consider ways to improve forest resource management through modern technologies. Participants examined the economic and ecological value of forests, the efficiency of processing walnut products, and the development of related local industries.

The event also featured discussions on promoting sustainable tourism, green technologies, organic agriculture, and increasing the investment appeal of the Bazar-Korgon district through improved tourism infrastructure.

During the ceremony, several citizens received Certificates of Appreciation and Honorary Diplomas from the district administration for their outstanding contribution to the development of the region. Among the awardees was the Development Policy Institute.

Members of the District Coordination Council played an active role in preparing the festival program, contributing suggestions on investment-related topics and participating in working group meetings.
