Working out of Development Strategy of Kyrgyz Parliament for 2016 - 2020 (DFID, 2015-2016)

It is expected that this Strategy will become one of key strategic documents defining the development of controlling system in the country in the medium term.

The strategy is developed under the leadership of the Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh with participation of Parliamentary Commission and Working group of experts.

Activities for the development strategy include:

  • Parliament setting development goals,
  • identifying ways to achieve the goal,
  • analysis of the problems hindering the achievement of the objective.

The Strategy will focuse on:

  • achieving the effective and complete realization of representative, legislative and control functions of Jogorku Kenesh,
  • improving the work of factions, committees, commissions and apparatus of the Jogorku Kenesh,
  • improving the quality of the legislative process, as well as the improvement of their work on their interaction with the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic,
  • taking into account the opinions of citizens in decision making.

Draft Strategy for the Development of Jogorku Kenesh will be submitted for consideration to the Parliament in April 2016.
